Children's Museum
The Pittsburgh Children’s Museum hired Insurance Restoration
Services (now ServiceMaster by Mistick) to repair and paint
the building’s architectural focal point, its rotunda.
The complex project involved plaster repair, lead paint abatement
and decorative painting.
The museum remained fully operational during the course of
the project as a result of our meticulous safety standards.
Scaffolding was strategically placed to limit the work area
and maximize exhibit space. Following plaster repair, craftsmen
began the multi-colored painting of the coffered down, frieze,
trim and balustrade along the balcony.
The Pittsburgh Children’s Museum is located in the
former Allegheny Post Office, a c.1897 building listed on
the National Register of Historic Places.
